Dave Darling

Worship Leader

Hi!  I’m Dave Darling, and I grew up here in Orlando along with my wife, Sharon.  I attended local schools (Go Trojans!) and graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1985.  I received my most important education through the guidance of Christian parents and growing up in the church to understand what I believe and, more importantly, why I believe.  In 1980, after the birth of the first of three sons, Michael, Christopher, and Bill, I joined North Park Baptist Church and was immediately taken in as part of the North Park family.

I have always had a passion for music – ever since I first sang my first duet in Kindergarten - and have been singing in church and school choirs all my life.  I love all kinds of music, I like to play the guitar and a little keyboards, but there’s nothing I like better than some good, close harmony singing.  I love to join with others to make music!

My other passion is to use my musical gifts, as simple as they are, to tell others about the love of Jesus.  I’ve found that it’s easier for me to express His grace through singing than through my own words.  Now, I’m not the greatest singer and I’m definitely not the best guitar player, but God has done things through me that I would never have been able to do on my own.

My hobbies include reading Science Fiction, visiting and making friends in other countries, singing in a local rock and roll band called MidLife CRISIS (yes, we’re all old), playing guitar, and collecting and playing antique 78 RPM records.
