What We Believe

1. We believe in God, the Father, all-powerful, all-wise, and all-loving; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord and Savior, who for our salvation suffered, died, and rose again, the just for the unjust, and whose spirit makes effective His atoning sacrifice.

2.  We accept the Scriptures as the only rule of faith and practice, and we believe that they teach that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges vested in them by the Word, and that its only Scriptural officers are Pastors and Deacons.

3.  We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the only ordinances prescribed by the New Testament for the Church, and that immersion is the Scriptural mode of Baptism.

4.  We believe in the principles of a free church in a free state and their spheres of operation are mutually exclusive.  To this the State itself subscribes when in Article I of Bill of Rights it is stated, A Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
